This card was made for a challenge that required the use of pastel colors and the use of hearts in the design.
I have a Spellbinders die set called "Heart Circles" that I've hardly uses, and thought this would be the perfect card to use one of the four dies in the set with a pastel pink cardstock. I also have had a circle stamp set for ages that hardly gets used from Kaiser Scrapbook called "Circles" that has 12 interchangeable round stamps that are love/encouragement themed that fit the heart die perfectly! I stamped the central sentiment on light green cardstock and punched it out. One of the larger plain circles I stamped in the center of the heart die cut. The central blue circle was a 1/2" punch. To make the pink sentiment piece stand out, I backed it with a black circle that is just slightly larger than the pink die-cut.
For the background, I used the long-retired Stampin' Up! (SU) "Soft Swirls" background stamp with black ink. After it dried, I filled in the hearts with pastel Copic markers. Then when the markers were thoroughly dried I covered each heart with "Glossy Accents" liquid to make the hearts shiny and have a bit of dimension.
The then glued the light green mat onto the pink card base, then using foam tape for dimension I attached the white background. The final step was to mount the pink die cut element to the card using more foam tape.
I am rating the difficulty level for this card as a "2" out of a possible "5". The serendipitous fitting stamps, die cuts, and punches made the card come together rather easily! I am going to send this card to a lovely lady who is going through chemotherapy. If you'd like to find a "chemo buddy" to send your cards of encouragement to, I urge you to check out https://www.chemoangels.com/
