This week we are celebrating Ardyth as Featured Stamper. I am a big fan and have gotten loads of tips and inspiration from both her cards and her YouTube videos. Our hostess, Kittie, dubbed Ardyth the Queen of Color Technique and I agree; but, it was Ardyth's black and white cards that kept calling me. I finally chose this one; although my card took a bit longer than 5 minutes to make: 5 cards in 5 minutes - black & white by Ardyth at Splitcoaststampers
I kept Ardyth's black and white motif; used a floral stamp, a frame and a sentiment but as you can see for yourself, those last three elements differ from hers. I bought this stylized rose stamp set precisely because of this fabulous card by Ardyth so I wanted to use them on this card to honor her: FS764 - Rosie Thank You by Ardyth at Splitcoaststampers
For my card, I wasn't sure how I wanted to arrange the flowers so I stamped a slew of images and die cut them all. I used Natasha Foote's (and others) recommendation to stamp the images with a misti. position the dies and then use low tack tape to keep the dies in the same position so you can move them from one card piece to the next. That worked pretty well, but I did have a bit of trouble realigning the dies and the tape pulled up some of the Versafine ink. So, next time, I will die cut first and then stamp the images using the negative space to line up the stamps.
I love the negative frames that Ardyth uses on so many of her cards, but I thought I needed a bit more "color", so I die cut my frame in black using two HA rectangle dies. Then it was just futzing around with the individual pieces til I was happy with my bouquets. I use Press N Seal when I have all these little pieces and I think I get everything perfectly placed. Then I add the glue and something happens...LOL...but it turned out ok anyways. And that's why it took me more than 5 minutes to make this card.
Congratulations Ardyth. We may be CASEing your cards this week as Featured Stamper, but trust me when I say your work is CASEd way more often than that. I love your Gallery, your techniques, and your beautiful, bold, colorful style. I hope you enjoy the cards made in your honor this week. And, I hope everyone is having a bright, bold, beautiful day. TFL.

Brilliant! Love this contemporary feel to this black and white gem. Your heat embossing is fantastic. The black frame and bold headline, perfect...

Fabulous in white and black, Debbie. Love the black frame! I have the same problem with glue these days, so sadly, I know exactly what you mean, lol. Great card to honour Ardyth's pretty one.
