I saw Jayne's fun use of bubbles in the WT challenge and that super fun Landscape video in Brenda's WCW challenge, so I decided to combine them.
Only read the rest of this if you are interested in hearing my crazy adventures on this journal page - lol.
Started by watercoloring my sky in my journal with my really cheap watercolors and no layer of gesso (feeling very lazy). It wasn't dark enough, and one of the challenges was bubbles so I mixed up some darker blue watercolor and added in some Dawn detergent and water . I worked up a lather and slapped on another coat. Very strange things happened (I will try it again but not on a landscape - lol). I was able to fit the cabin in after it dried, but I wasn't happy with it. To cover up the parts of the cabin I didn't like and some of the strange sky patterns from the detergent, I slapped on some white gesso with bubble wrap. I wasn't careful, and I totally covered up my trees and the cabin. So after it dried, I repainted the cabin and the trees. I needed a fun greeting since this is hot mess so I used gesso to add a velumn sentiment from Artstacks.
Thanks for the inspiration Jayne and Brenda!!! I had fun and thought of you both while making it.

I think the sky is amazing. It's a very realistic cloudy effect. It would be great if you could replicate it. Intersting that gesso worked for adding the vellum sentiment, I do have some clear gesso.

Oh my goodness a slap here and a slap there and you turned out a beautiful card. Love your sky and the little red house is fabulous. I see some wonderful shadows on the snow, too. Happy New Year!
