Our hostess this week promised a happy, airy-filled Gallery and our featured stamper, embee46, more than delivers on that promise. I found this fun card: CC866 Spiders! by embee46 at Splitcoaststampers
Loved the hexagonal patterns and the spooky spiders stamped on them. I didn't need any Halloween cards, so I went for sometime light and airy like her Gallery. I kept her hexagons and I have images on the hexes but changed everything else.
For both cards, I printed the sentiments using Verdana font and die cut them. The main panels are popped up with two additional layers of cs.
For the heart card: I embossed the main panel with the SU EF. I die cut the hexes then embossed with the Cuttlebug EF. Smooshed DOX on white cs and die cut the hearts. Assembled the hexes and sprinkled the hearts around. I was trying to get close to embee46's layout minus one but you can see it got changed a bit.
For the Flowers: I embossed the main panel with the Taylored Expressions EF. Die cut the hexes and started to assemble. Initially I had cut and embossed larger hexes but they were too large. As I was working on this layout, I used one of those just to see if I wanted to emboss some of them. I liked how the larger size looked so I added two. Stamped, colored, die cut and assembled the flowers on top of the hexes.
I really wanted to go white-on-white hoping the textures from the EFs would carry the day. The cards look cute, but I do think using different shades of paper for the hexes as embee45 did is more effective. I really like this design though and I may use it for Easter this year. I can envision the hexes in a rainbow of pastels with some cute bunnies.
Congratulations embee45 on being this week's featured stamper. You have a fabulous Gallery and I saw many cards that inspired me. I hope you enjoy your week and the cards made in your honor. I hope everyone is enjoying their week and I am sending out virtual hearts and flowers to each of you. TFL.

Fabulous! Both beautiful and the designs are fantastic. The EF on the BG and octagons are all perfect. Love how you did the hearts. Just pinned these gems...

These are both great - love the variety of textures - and I'll take hearts and flowers over spiders every day! TFS
