Made for the Teapot Tuesday Challenge which was to send some happy mail to William who is dealing with some stress fractures and is trying to get through Navy boot camp. So much stress for a young man!
As I sit here nursing an injury myself, I totally understand how frustrating it is to be slowed down by an injury!
I dug through my stamps for about an hour and couldn't find anything I liked. Then I suddenly remembered I've been making envelopes all weekend for a possible junk journal. And voila! An idea was born.
Each envelope contains a tiny note for William.
Because the card is an odd size (4"x8"), I used the coordinating paper from this DP set that looks like a map to make the mailing envelope as well.
There is a coordinating photo that shows the other side of the envelope and the smaller notes.

OH - such fun, so clever. What a brilliant idea, Beth. And opening the envelopes will be cool. I have Tolkien's Letters from Father Christmas, which I only bought as an adult and I still like opening the envelopes in it . Sorry that you're nursing your own injury, hope it's of short duration.

I love this creative take on the challenge too. So fun for William to discover each note -- and I love what your notes say as well. Using nautical themed paper as a nod to his Navy career was another great design choice. Great card, especially for this occasion and I'm sure it' going to make William smile 3X brighter.

Oh my gosh William is absolutely going to love getting this with notes in all the envelopes. You are so clever and I am eternally grateful for you taking the time while you are recovering to make my nephew this wonderful card. Thank you so much!

What a terrific idea to send William these encouraging little notes to open .... love the nautical papers you used on his card, too!
