I bought Stampin' Up's Christmas Whimsy Kit and decided to make up one of the cards, but of course, with a few adds of my own. I cut the front off one of the pre-folded card bases. I wanted to add more color layers, and I also wanted to end up with a card size of 4-3/4 x 6, which I prefer to the traditional A2 - 4-1/4 x 5-1/2.
I added three base layers, a Blueberry Bushel card base, a red foil layer, and the card front. To the evening sky, I stamped a galaxy of stars with Night of Navy ink and added metallic stars and snowflakes gems scattered about. Other adds: fine white lines, depicting snow, using a fine white Gelly Roll pen to the trees; Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the snow shadows; Wink of Stella/Clear to all red parts: packages, elf hats, and elf shoes; clear rhinestones to elf hats. These additions dressed up the fun snow scene quite nicely!
I checked out my SCS Challenge List to see what I might need to meet as many catch-up challenges as possible. I came up with an all-time high of 17, including one VSN mini challenge, all listed below.
1) DEC21VSNMINI3 - Virtual Stamp Night--Let TV Be Your Guide!e / 3rd Rock from the Sun Challenge - December 2021...based on this 1996 sitcom, make a galaxy night sky...process is your choice. I took a card kit and dressed it up the sky with a stamped galaxy of stars, plus metallic star and snowflake gems.
2) AOCC21 - All Occasion Card Challenge/ November 2021 - 11/1/21. Monthly challenge to encourage you to set goals for each month to help you complete and mail them timely! This card will be added to my 2021 Christmas card stash!
3) USEIT2021 - Use It Challenge/ November 2021 - 11/1/21. This is an ongoing/ annual challenge requiring you to use OLD/DUSTY and long unused items and/or OLD/NEW items purchased but seemingly forgotten! My OLD/DUSTY products not used for a long time: Blueberry Bushel cardstock (only 2nd sheet ever used); Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (retired); Gelly Roll pen.
4) CT0921 - Monthly Fan Club Challenge/ Popping In - 9/15/21. I have popped many parts of my Christmas scene up with dimensionals: the elves, sled, packages, and sentiment tag.
5) F4A603 - Free 4 All Challenge/ Dashing Through the Snow - 9/10/21. These elves are dashing haphazardly through the snow, stealing presents?? or bringing them, like "snail mail," to Santa??
6) ABC14Z26 - Alphabet Challenge/ Letter Z - 4/21/21. My letter Z = Zany. Here's the story: Did you notice the zany little elf at the back of the sleigh, who is not looking were he's walking? Imagine the next scene: he's stub his toe and fallen into the sled knocking all the present off into the snow. He, of course, has a speech bubble above his head with a "Duh!?? what happened?" comment. The more serious, industrious elf has his hands on his hips and eyes looking to the heavens, saying with exasperation, "AGAIN!"
7) WT836 - Ways to Use It/ Glitter, Glitter Everywhere - 3/18/21. I've added glitter to my snowy hill shadows and Wink of Stella glitter brush to all red items on my card.
MIX411 - Mix-ability Challenge/ Little Messy Fingers - 12/11/20. I used slightly thinned Acrylic Glitter Glue spread with fingers on snow shadows; Sprinkled lightly with Dazzling Diamonds glitter and tapped off. Mediums: Sargent's Acrylic Glitter Glue, dye-based stamping ink, glitter, Wink of Stella/ Clear.
9) CCC20OCT - Christmas Card Challenge/ Winter Scenes! - 10/1/20. My card...a snowy scene of funny little elves delivery presents by sled, the real "snail mail" way, to Santa!
10) S2S20MAY - Stamp 2 Save (aka Stamp 2 Support One Another)/ Travel Dreams - 5/7/20. When I was little, I always wanted to visit Santa's Workshop at the North Pole and see the elves busy making all the wonderful Christmas gifts. I think I'm putting that ont0 my travel dreams bucket list!
11) IC742 - Inspiration Challenge/ Simply Cute Tees - 2/22/20. These Lounge Shorts inspire presents to be on my Christmas card: Christmas Lounge Shorts!; therefore, this little Christmas Whimsy kit would be perfect for this challenge.
12) FS641 - Featured Stamper/ Hurry Now & Don't You Tarry - 5/19/19. Browsing Kerry's gallery, I found this lovely scenic card: Happy Holidays! The snowy sky, trees, and snowy slopes made me think of my Christmas Whimsy kit to be completed. These elements are all represented in the kit card front. The colors are different; my scene has elves and Christmas packages instead of what might be Santa's house at the North Pole; I have no stitching, trim, or buttons!
13) MMTPT558 - Teapot Challenge/ Red, White, & Blue - 4/2/19. Challenge: make a birthday card and use title colors. I'm late to the party, so my card is a birthday card in keeping with the birth of Christ. It will go to a family member for Christmas. My card is almost entirely with the title colors and a small touch of green.
14) SCSCCDEC18 - Fan Club 2018 Christmas Challenges/ Letter--Number 8 - 12/1/18. I have 8 little evergreens and 8 presents in my Christmas Whimsy card. Count them carefully, some trees are very tiny and some are partially hidden behind an elf head. Do you spy one of the presents in an elf hands!
15) CC661 - Color Challenge/ A Real Crush at the Marina - 11/14/17. Challenge colors: Real Red, Cucumber Crush (retired), Marine Mist (retired). Dessert: Christmas. My color exchanges: Real Red: same; Cucumber Crush: Garden Green + Olive Green; Marina Blue: Misty Moonlight + Blueberry Bushel.
16) CAS454 - Clean & Simple Challenge/ Into the Forest - 11/6/17. Challenge: Take a walk in the forest, show us what you'd see. I've found myself in a forest at the North Pole! What else would I see but a snowy landscape with elves, a sled, and presents!
17) SC667 - Sketch Challenge - 10/18/17. Sketch Tweak: Added one more layer between card base and card front. #2 & #3 = sloping snow banks. #4 Ovals - Left/Right #4s = elves; Middle larger = sled with pile of presents.
Ingredients: Stampin' Up: Kit--Christmas Whimsy--papers, stamps, die-cut, and embellishments. Cardstock--Blueberry Bushel, Red Foil. Ink--Night of Navy. Glitter--Dazzling Diamonds (retired). Wink of Stella/Clear. Basic Rhinestones. Other: Gelly Roll-White/fine.

I wish I could see all the sparkle and shine, but at least I know it's there. Your scene is Adorable, Charlene! How fun to add all the "extras" to make it Yours. A sleigh full of presents and they're on their way to grandmother's house....at least that's the way I see it. So fun~
