I printed out the PDF pattern from the tutorial onto plain copy paper. I used my lightpad to help me trace it onto a total of 12 sheets of heavyweight (300 g/sm) white cardstock with a pencil. Because of time constraints, I have only made one box so far, but I plan to make 11 more & put them together to make a whole "cake." Then I'll fill them with treats for my brother & SIL for Christmas.
I cut out the box shape, & scored the fold lines. I folded on all the fold lines first, then figured out how to cut the patterned paper pieces to decorate it. I toyed with the idea of cutting one large piece to cover the 2 sides, top, & end, but that would end up wasting a lot of paper, just because of the odd shape. So I just cut the individual pieces, adhered the box flaps, & glued the patterned paper onto the box. I think for the rest of them, though, I'll adhere the patterned paper before I put the box together.
For a decorative topper, I used my Mini Bowdabra tool to make a scrunch bow from white chunky glitter tulle. I glued that to the top of the box with tacky glue. It actually came out pretty well, if I do say so myself!
