So, every year we do gift cards for a one stop shopping type store for employees for Thanksgiving and Christmas instead of giving people turkeys. and I tend to make something to tuck them into that looks a little nice than just the plain envelopes the store has. And Lydia's gorgeous Clarence art challenge caught my eye the other day. ( I do not have any squirrels I do not think) But, I knew I had this tiny acorn. So, I bought some packs of that accent opaque paper in 3 weights just for die cutting and I started out with die cutting the tag shaped cards ( they fold at the top) and running that through a slimline embossing folder but, even though the paper was on the thin side it still decided to not like being folded. So, I cut another stack of the tag dies and cut the embossed ones in half and glued and in a couple of instances paper pieced the bits that broke away onto the fronts. this is why Antique linen comes in handy as a color duster thing ha ha. the Acorns and Sentiments were stamped on the drop pieces, I watercolored the acorns real quick with very little water and cut them out with scissors. the one in the center laying down has a little bit of an almost copper penny colored gel pen in the centers of some of the detailing on the embossing and all the acorns have a few dots in the line between the tops and the nuts. Thanks for this challenge Lydia, & tfl.
