I began by creating a blended background on Distress Watercolor card using Villainous Potion, Evergreen Bough and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide inks, added water splatters and woohoo, already I'm in love with this colour combo.
Then it was time to try my hand at foiling a stamped image. I laid down a line of the Toner Ink on the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat and picked up the ink with my brayer. I brayered the ink on to the snowflake stamp from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Retro Flakes, pressed on to the panel and immediately lifted the stamp. I repeated the process to add snowflakes around the edge of the panel and did the same with the sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Weathered Winter. I placed Gold Toner Re-active Foil over the panel, ran it through my laminating machine which will work just as well, if, like me, you don't have a Minc machine and woohoo was I happy with the foiling on the snowflakes, not so happy with the sentiment. It did foil perfectly but I obviously chose the wrong stamp as it didn't show up very well.I wasn't quite ready to ditch the panel and start over, so I stamped the stitched circle from Simon Says Winter Seals on to the panel, inked with Versamark, sprinkled with Simon Says Detail White Embossing Powder and heat set. I inked the Peace Love Joy Hope stamp with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink and stamped on to a die-cut circle. To introduce a touch more white, I added splatters of White Gesso over the background and die-cut circle, sprinkled with the Detail White Embossing Powder and heat set.
To finish, I added trimmed out words from Simon Says Reverse Merriest Christmas Sentiment Strips and matted the panel on to a 4.1/2" x 5.3/4" white card blank.
