Hello and TFL,
I posted this with the coordinating Flipbook (pocket book) I made, and then had a wonderful comment that they liked the card even better! hahah so...maybe i should post this again, separate, with more info? I am.
I made this Friendship card, with a few strips of the papers and a piece of lightweight white printer paper for backing.
first I cut the white backing wider than the paper strips, which gave me a margin to make a mark on the white backing paper as to where i wanted to sew across the page. I lined up the paper, made the mark for the sewing lines and then glued the strips to the backing, where i would NOT be sewing. you don't want to sew over the glued area.
Then I sewed a few zig zag horizontal lines across the page. I wanted them to show just a little bit, so i used the ivory color.
I had already sewed the lined paper strip on the far left (and pocket piece), Vertically, separately before adding to this card, so that was not sewed horizontally.
After sewed page, ran thru bigshot with the S U Ornate Die set , largest die. I had glued the top and bottom edges to hold the page in place on the backing, so needed to use the foam and brush roller to get all the teeny tiny dot pieces out of the page, but I LOVE this border die and it was worth the effort. hahaha
I added a pocket at the bottom to hold the 'sending a smile' sentiment.
The Gorjuss doll's feet are glued to the pocket, but her body is elevated on foam.
The poppy parade flowers are cut from the two smallest dies from the S U Cactus die set. Then used white gel pen to color the centers.
enjoy! have a great day : )
Teresa
