Anita challenged us to do black and white cards with pops of color in our weekly Teapot Challenge for a mother and daughter, friends of Jean (jkanack). This card will be sent to Carol, who is having some serious health issues. I'll be making another card for Carol's mom, Dee, who celebrated her 99th birthday recently. (I was going to make two similar cards but found out that I've ran out of white cs, so I'm trying to think of a creative way to solve this ;))
Thank you Anita for the challenge (love it!), and Jean for the opportunity to give some paper hugs to Dee and Carol!
Update: Thank you for the advice, Debbie - at first, I used pink cs, thinking that it would go with the flowers, but it didn't look 'right', so I made the second card for Dee using black cs and white printer paper adhered on top. It worked!
BTW the reason I ran out of white cs is because I promised myself not to buy anymore craft stuff until I use up what I have. Although I have scraps of white cs, I ran out of scraps that are big enough to make a card base. I'm trying to see how long I can hold out on not buying white cs

Fabulous card. Love the bold B&W stripes along with the curved edging. The flowers really do pop -- love the shading on the pink blooms. So, I am wondering and waiting to see just how you solve your "no white cardstock" dilemma. Any other color you could fake it with markers, but white....hmmmmm...guess you better go black instead. Or go shopping. LOL. Good luck!

I love this elegant design, the flowers are beautiful, and don't ask me why but this card made me think about a piano, with a bouquet on it, Carol will love this card!!

Run out of white cardstock! That sounds almost impossible, LOL. Green is what I never have enough of, followed by blue. This is so classy, stylish and elegant. Loving the stripes and the curved lines.

Your card is full of classic elegance, Gem! The curve with stripes reminds me of a beautiful piano with the b&w keys, so I thought this would be going to Dee. Anyhow, this is one Gorgeous card~
