I'm surprised I got a card done today. I was so mesmerized by all the details in this week's Featured Stamper's, LayerofInk, Gallery along with the descriptions of how she made them, I got a bit lost. But I decided on this beautiful art journal page. I loved the big splash of colors, the textures, the sweet daisies and the story of her Grandmother's yard. Here's the page: Daisy Art Journal Page by Layersofink at Splitcoaststampers
I started with a panel of watercolor paper and colored a few shades of yellow with my watercolor pencils. I did have to do this several times before I got the color bright enough. I wish it were looser, but it is what it is. Stenciled the dotted pattern with DOX. Embossed the floral stamp in white as an homage to Anna-Karin's white daisies, but went back in with watercolors to add a touch of color to the blooms and leaves. Embossed "Sister" and then added the smaller sentiment with DOX. Stamped the bird on watercolor paper and watercolored with the same pencils I used in bg and a darker orange. Adhered to a Bazzill card base.
When we were young, my sister was always surrounded by yellow. I thought it was her favorite color; but, in our eld, she told me that yellow was never her favorite. She likes all the pastels. What???? Well, it may not be her favorite, but whenever I see yellow I think of her and it makes me smile. So this year, her card is a bright sunny yellow with a heartfelt sentiment.
Congratulations Anna-Karin on being this week's Featured Stamper. Your Gallery is stupendous. I am now armed with endless inspiration and a long list of stamps and craft supplies I need to acquire -- starting with the wonderful Queen Anne's Lace stamp you designed. Hope everyone is having a bright day. Me? I'm shopping for stamping goodies -- I mean, what brightens a day more than that.

Your card is full of sunshine and I love that. I bet your sis will, too, even if she is now a pastel person. I love the bird and flower...all gorgeous.

I love Sister cards, and yellow doesn't have to be anyone's favorite color for it to still add happiness to your creations and to our lives. Sunshine is sunshine, whether it is through someone or something! I love this gorgeous creation that made great use of color, textures, and the embossing!!

Super pretty, Debbie. Love the yellow and the bird and your great design. I love your story of how you were wrong on your Sister's favorite color too. The stamp is so pretty - makes me think of my Sister that passed and how she is in my heart. Lovely card!
I too ended up buying several things due to my gallery viewing in Anna-Karin's gallery. LOL. I can't wait to get them.
