This card is for the Teapot Party for dear Cheryl who is struggling with health issues.
The BG was covered with paints and a baby wipe used to create some texture/interest whilst stencilling around the images of Cheryl's Tribe.
Initially I was going to stamp inside the figures with flowers but as the theme was tribes, feathers, etc I chose a World stamp set out of one of my Catherine Pooler Stamp of Approval boxes. It's got some cool designs of the world including Oz so I stamped some of those within the people. Unfortunately the stamping didn't come out great...which is usually the case for me when using stamps I haven't used at all or much and I'm too impatient to ink up and test first, but I'm also not one to be put off by some minor challenge when creating LOL. So out came my journalling pen and I traced around the stamping. The images are lots of doodles so I added a few more here and there lol. I was also going to colour in the people but I love the B&W look on the coloured BG so decided to leave as is after adding a few tiny hearts. This will also go in this week's Mix challenge on hearts.
The feathers were diecut out of some prints that were in my stash which were simply the remains of my brayer and rolling off. The banner that the ladies are running through or standing on depending on how you look at it were also cut out of the same papers.
I wasn't sure what to do with the feathers and was going to use them for the ladies to stand on but it didn't look right so I chose 3 feathers and thought they reminded me of an Indian headdress I used to have when I was younger...not that long ago LOL. In the same SOA box was the border stamp, stamped that as part of the headdress and glued the feathers on the back of the card.
Added my Tim Holtz stickers and creating my own word got as I didn't have one in my stash.
On the back I've covered the card with floral patterned paper and with a message to Cheryl saying that Her Tribe is here for her and to keep strong.
TFL. Happy day

Jayne - you should ca ll this one “shake your tail feathers”. Now I can’t get that song out of my head! What a wonderful stage and background scenery you have created for your chorus line.

Love the stamping inside your women and I am so glad you left them B&W because they shine on that beautiful stage you created for them. I especially love that there is heart on each figure. Gorgeous creation and the feather "headdress" is a wonderful touch. Cheryl is sure to adore this and feel the love and good wishes coming to her from her tribe.

Hand in hand together, what a wonderful choice of image, Jayne. This is so full of life and joy, I love it. Beautiful feathers, too.
I hear you on testing stamps first, I try to make a habit of that but of course it doesn't always happen.
I once write to a company asking if a stamp was faulty because it didn't stamp in as much detail as the images and samples on the website, and the suggestion was that perhaps the DT had touched theirs up with a pen, so you're not alone ;-). (But they did send me another one to see if it was better).
