xxxx

Photo Details
Poster: heather freeman

The walls I stamped and faux painted.

Supplies:
stamp set of choice
acrylic craft paint(s)
felt scrap on a plastic lid - for my stamp pad
damp towels (to immediately wipe mistakes off of the wall and to keep the stamps from getting too much paint built up on them)
interior paint and glaze
sea sponge
brown kraft paper (another use for the paper that comes with our SU!goodies !)

Very nicely done. I now regret that I traded that stamp set.
I may have to get it again.

Thank you so much ! This is the reason why I bought this stamp set a year ago.
I should have been more specific in my description of the technique, sorry for any confusion to all of you wonderful ladies that have written. Here are the basic steps I used, any more questions, please write. The walls were a simple semi-gloss cream color first. After laying out a guideline with a large yardstick and level to tape off (that took some patience in this un-level old farmhouse!), using acrylic craft paint on felt I stamped the border then the random leaf images. I used the vine stamp unmounted, it was a bit easier to line up. Let that dry for 24 hours, then I moved on to the painting technique. I sponged on the glaze/paint mixture, then immediately "crumpled off" the mixture with crinkled up pieces of brown packing paper. You must work quickly, keep a wet edge and rotate the paper often, don't let it get too saturated with paint, either (it won't give the crisp crinkled lines/remove the paint as well). By the way, it only took me two days to complete this room. Have fun painting / stamping your own rooms !
