This hand-stitched card #23 of 50 is one of only a very few that were not part of the set of 44 that were given to my Mom, a very avid and a very talented cross-stitcher. I completed the 50 hand-stitched cards over about an 18-month period.
It is all because of Jennifer McGuire's love of hand-stitching that she introduced us in a wonderful YouTube to hand-stitching on cardstock using specialized dies. The first one she introduced was by Paper Smooches, and it's the one that I used for all of the A2 hand-stitched cards in the 50. That company is no longer in business, but there are other dies of that approximate size made by Frantic Stamper and MFT, and likely others. I tend to use the Altenew Pegboard die for my A7 cards, you will find the dies that you like best. This Paper Smooches die does not have an outer cutting edge, which means that you can create the size of mat or frame around your hand-stitching. The larger Pegboard die by Altenew has an outer cutting edge, as sore the smaller MFT die. Simon Says Stamp has just come out with a larger die without an outer cutting edge, I ordered it but I don't have it yet. I don't know anything about the Frantic Stamper die dimensions nor if it has an outer cutting edge.
This card was sent to the son of some very good friends, who is taking very kind and loving care of his Mom by staying with her in her home, so that she can remain in her own home. I think that this is exceptional, and I hope that my card and small gift card were an encouragement to him.
Thank you for taking a closer look at my card. When you leave a comment on my card or on someone else's card, know that you are giving the gift of encouragement to that artist, and I, for one, am very grateful to you.
Please be safe and stay healthy during this very unusual time. It's a great time to dive into your crafts, as it's a safe activity, and it's great for our peace of mind, plus we can send the cards that we make to others to give the gift of encouragement.
