I survived today's Watercolor Wednesday Challenge! It was terrifying. And I'm really happy with my card. I'm actually so happy with it that I don't know how I'm going to part with it since I poured my heart and soul into it. I would have liked to change this up to make it mine, but I didn't have the courage to do that. So I just followed the instructions. But I did add some pine needles around my pinecone.

I think you have made it showing a great personal touch to it and it is beautiful. All of the lanterns today have been lovely. I am trying to get my Christmas cards addressed and off to mail today, so I haven't gotten in my stamp room to give this a try. I know it will take me lots of time.

Fabulous job. Your terror does not show at all. I think you should keep this for yourself and tack it up where you will see it everyday to remind you to go boldly forward with your watercolors. You are doing great!
I really like your addition of the pine needles, I noticed it right off. I love the deep blue you achieved! Your lantern in the snow looks soooo good! I think you should keep it and frame it!

Howdy neighbor! We've both survived another WC challenge. Fabulous light streaming from your lantern and nicely done on those banks of snow. I like the addition of the green needles around your pinecone, and indeed you really captured the look of a snow tipped cone with all those lovely highlights and lowlights.

Really enjoy seeing your work in these challenges. YOu should be very happy with this painting. Really impressed with your light reflection on the snow. Now you need to make another and frame it for yourself. Glad you are playing along and bringing us these wonderful creations. TFS

It's a keeper, for sure. I love your lantern, sky, and that wonderful cone/needles. The sentiment is perfect as it does look like a really quiet, peaceful night...bright, too. Now, I'm singing that Christmas song.

I think this is very much in the Jen style and that's a good thing. Those pine boughs are necessary, I thought those cones looked out of place. Great idea.

Magical Jen. Awesome job with your reflections and the movement in your sky. I know many want to do their own, but I will say by following the video it is a teaching moment. His attention to light was one thing, the movement and colour in his sky was another. The details such as the snowflake detail, the pinecone detail ... all lessons to learn from. They will stay with you, especially if you do them again. So by all means, paint a larger one and frame it for yourself to hang during the winter months. You will see what I am talking about.
