Lightly sketched in my snowman half circle head and a long skinny triangle for a carrot nose. As per the tutorial, I painted in the nose first and let dry, then wet all the negative space with clear water to paint in my night sky. I started with a mixture of blue and purple but quickly realized it would not dry dark enough so added a dab of black to the mix for some deeper undertones. I was almost done with my night sky when of course I managed to glob dark blue over the end of my carrot. . . .but not to fear . . I have learned well from the tutorials provided by our watercolor hostesses - did not panic and quickly removed the offending color with a clean damp brush. Finished the face with pink cheeks and dots for eyes and mouth. Splattered watered down white acrylic paint for snowflakes. The hardest part of todays challenge was deciding how to frame my finished piece on my card front. I stamped & embossed the sentiment in midnight blue and then edged my entire card base with a snowflake border stamped with versamark and embossed with Aegean silver.

Oh, my! He looks so good! Good for you getting that dab of paint off! I didn't feel I was able to get my sky dark enough and I tried twice. I love the color of your sky. Your nose placement is spot on. I really needed a second try on my snowman's nose. Ha! I had my snowman nose way off to the side! He looked soooo odd. 2nd try was better!

TERRFIC card! Great sketching of your fun guy. Your sky is awesome with the bright color. It really is a super video. Glad you mentioned how you took off the color blob. This is why I enjoy watercoloring...you really can fix things. Something about snowmen...they seem to have their own fun personalities. Your guy seems like a happy go lucky one. You have to smile back at him. Glad you played along this week and gave us your sweet guy.

Just a darling snowman. Great background and love your silver snowflakes in the background. I think that smile is brought on by the falling snow. I like to keep a very small piece of paper towel handy, too. Sometimes, I can dab off a boo boo with it if it is in the right place.....or the brush. Thanks for playing along this week.

I am so impressed you saved your nose I don't remember what I was doing when I goofed my hat but, I didn't get the brush clean enough fast enough to not have it be a dark spot so, it ended up being more shadows ha ha.

Wow! I don't know if I'm that good yet to know how to fix my mistakes! Although I do remember being fascinated by the thirsty brush in one of the videos. He's so sweet with his rosy cheeks and framed perfectly! Another WCW down and a little closer to watercolor mastery :0)
