I made this card for the Tickle a Teapotter Challenge. I saw a teapot with eyes on it and had just bought a "Tin of Glances" (eye stamps) by Jane Davenport, so naturally I needed to make a card with eyes! I thought about what an unusual year it has been and how different everything is compared to just a year ago. There have definitely been ups and downs, but I believe if we choose to open our eyes to the good in the world, we will survive. However, there are some days when I feel like just keeping my eyes closed and hoping when I open them that everything is back to "normal." (Whatever that is!)
So anyway, I used a variety of stamps to create this lovely lady in blue. I fussy cut flowers and popped some up, adding lots of sparkling glitter (which doesn't really show well in this photo.) The background is filled with eyes, too, some open and some closed. To me she's a mysterious, funky "Mona Lisa" and we may never know what she's truly thinking.
OK, now that you all think I'm crazy, have fun, be creative and get inky!

Yes, wouldn't it be wonderful if we all closed our eyes for a minute and opened them and this would all be over? Where's the reset button? I love this image and the colors you used.

Oh, Gracie, what a marvelous art card and write up about these crazy times. Thanks for taking us below sea-level, giving us pause, expressing your hopefulness, and helping us explore the possibilities through art therapy. I love that you chose to use all those eyes in the bg and also picked such a pretty shade of blue. Fav'd.

Your creation is stunning and I love all the details you added. That color blue is amazing on this card. And, I so appreciate the reminder that there is always good in the world. Even when we feel the need to close our eyes against the circumstances confronting us, there is still good. Thank you.
