I know this card is a bit out there, but walk with me a bit so I can maybe get you to see the inner beauty...lol...

So Jayne and probably everyone else on this site loves their geli plates and gets wonderful prints from them. I have mistreated and misunderstood mine and we just don't like each other very much. Everything goes wrong when I use it. This time I could not find my brayer. So this was made using my fingers to spread out the paint (I know it isn't the right thing to do but I wanted to play and I believed my fingers might work better to achieve the cheese plate design). I also sprinkled on some mica flakes which made those cool blank dots as they decided to fully stick to the plate. So I got done and then I pulled off the print and it was really, really ugly. Then I also could not imagine what I would do to fix it or ever use it. Then it hit me this looks like mud and crawfish love mud, and I needed a thank you card for my potential future SIL who loves crawfish.... So I set out to draw crawfish and paint it up. It is kind of ugly - I know it, but I am pretty sure he is going to love it.
Thanks for sticking with me in explaining this crazy thing. Hugz

Ugly? Are you serious? I think your crawfish is a marvelous creation! Well done! While I know nothing about Gelli Prints, I also love this background you created! Great card!!

I love that you drew your own mud bug Nancy, the colors are perfect for that and I have a hate hate relationship with my brayer so, I did chuckle reading the backgrounds adventures.
I just really don't think we can ever call anything you do, ugly! I think it is fantastic! I spent my teen years in Louisiana so this calls to me of Cajun Country and I can see it as a sign hanging in a restaurant! I am smiling at your misunderstanding and misusing your Gel Press. I have some upcoming Gel Press sessions penciled in and I will be honest, I am a little nervous! I have only actually used a Gel Press 3 times.

Oh my goodness what a creation story! I totally hear ya on the love/hate with the Gelli plate - I'm right there too! You really need to sell your crawfish/lobster design to a die company (!) that is totally awesome and realistic!! and will be loved by your potential SIL!!

First, I couldn't figure out what was on your card in the thumb. When I saw it was a crawfish, I was amazed. That is the coolest drawing I have ever seen of one!! Your card is fabulous, Nancy. I'm sorry you had so much trouble, but the results are SO worth it. Just awesome!!
