Marianne (lantana) is this week's Featured Stamper, and her gallery is just beautiful. I chose this beautiful card of Marianne's to CASE: WT491 Sail Away by lantana at Splitcoaststampers. I loved the simplicity and elegance of her card and that it was a masculine card. I used scrap DSP instead of that gorgeous stenciled background, and I used a lighthouse instead. I kept the coloring very muted too.
I also made this card for this week's Teapot Tuesday challenge- my heart truly goes out to Lisa and her family during this difficult time. Pat is our hostess and she chose "Tag It!" as this week's theme. The center panel is small enough it could be a tag. I honestly could not come up with a card until I saw Marianne's beautiful card, then I was able to make this card.
Enjoy your week in the spotlight Marianne, and thank you for the great card idea too. ~Karen.

I like that herringbone paper for the bg...it’s a great contrast to your lighthouse image. And who doesn’t love a lighthouse...always a favorite in my book. Terrific card for Neil.

It is so good to see one of those old favorite SU sets used on your wonderful card. I have that set and will never part with it. You have inspired me to get it out and do a few sympathy cards with it. Masculine sympathy cards are difficult for me to come up with, and this set may be just the one to use.

Karen, how fantastic to see a beautiful card for Neil from you in the gallery. Lifted my heart, this morning. Lighthouses always speak encouragement to me.
