I combined two MMJ challenges (mixed, messy and joyful). You can find the threads in the challenges area, way down at the bottom.
The two challenges were altering a playing card and creating a background with crayons, gelatos etc.
The playing card came from Japan. I went to a festival in Chiba Prefecture in 1993, part of a dance/music exchange. It was their 120th anniversary of the merger of two provinces into one. If you look closely at the top of the playing card, you can see '120.' It was a souvenir given to us by the government. I duded it up with gems, charms and a heat embossed gold crane. There are three birds on it, you can see the printed bird under the circle of gems.
The background was made from the back of a program from an event I attended in 2019. I gessoed it, added some transparent gelatos, mixing the colors until I was happy. Added a stencil in gold glitter and some art stamps. They didn't stamp very well so I outlined them with the black pen. Mounted it all on gold mirror paper.

How cool to use a card you had from your time in Japan. Great texture and art. TFS. Happy day

I have read your description several times, taking in all of your words, then scrolling back to the photo, I feel like I was part of your adventure Jean. This is such a fabulous way to preserve memories (Marie Kondo would be so proud).

Jean, soooo cool! Love the birds and other objects you added and the many layers. Love that you have meaningful things on this and meaningful words - so true for the MMJ crowd for sure. Love this! Hugz
