There is currently some coffee cup drama at my house. Hubby found the tiniest bit of paint in his very favorite coffee cup (favorite for 13 year at least). I might possibly have been splattering some paint around the sink that day and it was in the too be washed pile so it would have been cleaned.....but now he refuses to use it. He now uses the monogram coffee up of my Grandson's - it has a P on it for Patton. So now I need to find a K monogram coffee cup. Here is a painted version - now I just need to find one like it.
The crazy mixed media base was done like this:
*white card stock trash piece
*layer of gesso
*drew the coffee cup with a pen
*painted the coffee cup with Gouache colors
*stenciled on some giant crazy stitches
*hated it so I ran it through embossing folder
*sanded the raised spots
*rubbed on distress ink
*splattered with paint
Fun, fun, fun! Hugz

Awesome card! I love reading details of your cards. Fascinated by the steps to make this gem. BG is beautiful, the shade/tones scream masculine. Even the headline is "antiqued" perfectly.

I LOVE this Nancy and I love the story behind it too. I could hear Susie yelling in your ear "just add more" and you did and it turned out stunning. Love the embossing over the whole -- I think that made it. Thanks for more inspiration. Because of you and Susie, I have now ordered gesso, gel medium, and paste. I swore I wouldn't so I am starting slow. You guys....Geeesh. I know, zest and glue sticks might be next, LOL.

That sounds just like a guy thing. I'm laughing because it reminds me of the "tastes like paint" scene from Dennis the Menace. Seriously..he won't use it if you get the paint out? Love your monogram coffee cup.

I am laughing, oh boy ( do you guys have a dishwasher? it would sterilize the mug) there is something to be said over a favorite... Hope you find a good back up one soon though. Love the textures here Nancy.
