What a super WT! And WCW! WT (ways to use it) is a bridge fold, which I've never done and the WCW (water color Wednesday) is wet on wet watercolor, in which I have little experience. Full speed ahead here!
When you live in the upper midwest, you have to enjoy every season to some degree. Wait a minute, the weather will change. Yes, this summer has been too hot for me. Yes, spring and fall sometimes get lost in the shuffle, either too wet or too hot or something that we can complain about. Then there is winter. But, truly, I wouldn't have it any other way. There is always something good about every season.
The middle piece is my practice piece for the WCW challenge. This piece went from 'I like it' to 'I'm not sure' to 'Nope' to 'I think I saved it.' My biggest mistake was probably having a ceiling fan running on top of me, made the paper dry too quickly. But I didn't give up, kept layering colors, didn't really have a plan for color as it was practice, but I'm glad I hung in with it. I doodled a little and drew in the stem with the Microns. I also sponged on some DOx ink to make the background softer.
Because I love anything to do with leaves, I found some pieces in my stash that enabled me to do the bridge card with the practice piece. The side pieces are stenciled leaves and the cross piece is a chlorophyll print piece. I stamped some words, leaves and fronds with DOx. I also did some sponging on all pieces and some darker sponging on the edges. Considering I struggle with folds, this didn't go too badly. I really only had some trouble with the cross piece, because I DIDN'T FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. Ah, me....

Ha, ha, you made me laugh about your struggles to get this to work. So like me. As for your watercoloring- it's great! If this is your first time, you are really talented. I am off to give that a try now that I got my bridge card uploaded. Way to go!

Ah, Jean, this is really lovely. Your leaves have such style and flair and I am loving the bitty splatters you added to this panel! Very classy card and the sentiment is so true~

Very lovely Jean. I do understand your hesitation on the watercolor...I was the same...is it crap? Is is OK? Sometime s you just have to let it go and come back to it. I like mine a lot better today. I also get you on the change of seasons...it's been a hot summer but the last few less humid days are what we live for!

Ooh, I think you did a great job with this w/c challenge and the other one, also. Wonderful fold and your center piece is great. I think you are becoming an expert at this. I do love all your pretty leaves, too. About the heat, we had 95 degrees today with a heat index of 103-107 degrees. But, I love summer and the heat. Can't take winter and cold. Of course, the humidity does get waaaay too high, at times.

Pretty bridge fold with the wet on wet painting, I can imagine you struggling with the bridge...that's it with fun folds, you really NEED to follow instructions and to read and do it following the step by step...not easy for an artist isn't it?

Very pretty and very cool fold on this, Jean. I like your watercolor practice middle panel - some great colors. The leaf theme is wonderful and very true of where you live - we just get sort of cool, sort of hot, and VERY hot here. Great card. Hugz

Your practice panel made a fabulous focal point on this card - and while the colors are beautifully translucent, it steals the show from the soft neutrals on the sidebars.
