This week's Teapot is a celebration for Annie's 80th Birthday. Wow! How wonderful. And as she loves fashion and flowers, I decided to combine the two here. Looking at her daughter Anita's gallery, I am sure that Annie's tastes are quite fine and that she love would high fashion and elegant gowns -- hopefully even vintage ones. We were also asked to be inspired by nylon which was introduced the year of Annie's birth, 1940. Well, the dress isn't a 40's style, but I do imagine that this lady is wearing a jewel encrusted nylon scarf with her ensemble.
I altered the calla lily bouquet digital stamp to a gray scale so the background would be a bit muted to highlight the dress. I superimposed the vintage dress over the lilies and printed. I kept the coloring of the lilies more muted for the reason stated above. I wish I had iridescent paint for that lovely dress, but I don't. So I just hinted at the color as shading. The belt and bracelet were colored with a silver gel pen. Originally, I just put drops of stickles on the scarf hoping it would look like beads or jewels, but it needed more. So, I filled the entire scarf in with the stickles. Much more dramatic and sparkly, although it doesn't really show up like that here. This card definitely looks better in real life. Finished off with using distress ink as watercolor around the images.
I am so sorry Anita can't be with her Mom on her special day But, I do hope that all the love and joy and good wishes being sent her way through this teapot party will help to make her day feel special. Happy 80th Birthday Annie. TFL

A jewel encrusted nylon scarf.....pure genius! Seriously Debbie, your card is stunning. You should be an ambassador for A Day for Daisies, you showcase them all so beautifully. Your lillies are drop dead gorgeous too. I hope you can tell how much I love this exquisite creation.

These two images were meant for each other and your color treatments are wonderful. I have a wood stamp very similar to this digi and you have inspired me. Fav'd.
