So, this week's Teapot challenge was to use a paper technique. Well, I don't pleat; I don't piece; and, I don't tole. But I did pierce a bunch of paper with dies and scissors. And I smooshed and watered and ink blended the heck out of the paper. And, I used paper. So I think I did a "paper technique".
My mojo is apparently at the same convention with Susie Australia's because I did struggle to come up with a card idea. I have been playing with backgrounds with my new speckled egg DO and it reminded me of "vintage", which reminded me of Susie's teapot, which I think is "vintage". You can see I'm still struggling here.
So, I "Tim Holtzed" the paper (smear ink on mat, spritz with water, drag paper through the ink); I stenciled, I stamped (very very old stamps that I don't have names for anymore); I die cut the frame and leaves and ink blended with walnut stain DO; direct ink to paper some cardstock with Speckled Egg and cut the letters; glued it all together and then went in search of a focal point. Decided to use this chickadee (don't you just love the sound of that) which is a free clipart image. Did my best not to amputate his legs in the cutting so his feet are a bit clumpy, but at least he has feet. That's it. A lot of steps but not a difficult project to do.
I do hope Janet and Bruce enjoy this birdie and I hope you are enjoying your day too. TFL

All that stabbing, smooshing, dragging and near amputation most definitely qualifies LOL. Debbie I love this vintage collage to bits!. It reminded me of the teapot, that lady would totally have a gilded bird in a cage. Everything about this is wonderful and Janet and Bruce will no doubt appreciate this very much. Our mojo's must be having a ball at that convention.

If this is what you call struggling...teach ME! Gorgeous, Debbie. Amazing. The stenciling is perfect. As is all your inking and awesome fussy cutting on your chickadee image. Excellent my friend.
