This is card #7 of 50 hand-stitched cards I have made, a few have been uploaded previously, 44 of these were given to my Mom as a special gift. She is a master cross-stitcher, and I wanted to find a way to incorporate hand-stitching on these cards for her. I had been looking for several years to find a technique to do this. I had purchased some stamps and dies to simulate that look, but I really wanted to be able to actually have real stitches on these cards for my Mom to give to her friends and family. When I watched a YouTube by Jennifer McGuire introducing to me the hand-stitching die by Paper Smooches, I was excited, and I ordered the die, and started this journey. I am extremely grateful to Jennifer McGuire!!!
Although I gave my Mom the first card using a hand-stitched piece for her 80th birthday almost 6 months after I had first watched Jennifer Mcguire's YouTube, I am glad that I took another year to work on and complete the card set, for my Mom received a much bigger set, plus I think that my overall concept plus my stitching and creating basic patterns plus the color combinations improved. I would like to learn more stitches and be able to incorporate those into my cards.
All of the patterns that I have uploaded and color combinations have been my own. I have made 2 hand-stitched pieces that I made into cards that I copied the patterns, if I upload those, I will acknowledge my source.
If you would like information that is not specifically listed, feel free to contact me, and I will do my best to get that information for you.
I will be uploading the rest of these hand-stitched cards gradually.
Thank you so much for stopping by to see my hand-stitched card. When you take the time and the trouble to leave a message, it's a huge thrill for me!
