This is a close-up view of card #7, mainly to show some of the stitching. This view is showing a view of stitches that are all cross stitches.
This is from a collection of approximately 50 hand-stitched cards, 44 of those were given in a set as a special gift to my Mom, who is a master cross-stitcher, and I had been searching for a few years to find a way to stitch on paper, or to simulate that look. When I watched a YouTube by Jennifer Mcguire where she introduced a hand-stitching die by Paper Smooches, then gave a technical introduction on how to stitch on cardstock, I was very excited, because I knew that I had found a way to create what I hoped my Mom would think were some very special cards for her to give to her friends and family members. I worked on this project for about 18 months, 6 months in, I made the first hand-stitched card for my Mom's 80th birthday, which was uploaded some time ago. In many ways, I am glad that I took another year, and instead of perhaps making a dozen hand-stitched cards, I made 44, and my stitching and my concept improved.
All of the patterns that I have uploaded and color combinations have been my own. I have made 2 hand-stitched pieces that I made into cards that I copied the patterns, if I upload those, I will acknowledge my source.
Thank you so much for stopping by to see this view of my card. When you take the time and the trouble to leave a comment, it's a huge thrill for me!!!
