This adorable new digital image in the A Day for Daisies store reminded me so much of my own granddaughter, Lily, that I just had to buy her. The image is colored with Copics. I cut a lot of white space around her so I could keep the hair wisps and delicate flowers at the bottom. I used Peacock Feathers as watercolor to color the white cardstock around the image to help it blend better with the background.
On the background, I stenciled the medallions from the mini set with Distress Micro Glaze. Then smooshed the inks on the glass mat, spritzed and dragged the paper through the puddles (no brayering this time). When it was dry I covered with the Distress Micro Glaze which not only makes it waterproof but brings out the colors in DOs a bit more. The sentiment is computer generated using Bilbo Swash Caps and Elliot Sans fonts.
I wanted to make the sentiment darker and move it to the other side of the card. After making nine more backgrounds in this style, I decided to just go with the first one. Why is it the first one you mess up is always the best. The others were fine, but the medallions showed up more which made the background just too busy for this delicate image.
I thought the DOs Peacock Feather, Salty Ocean and Picked Raspberry were close to this weeks color challenge so I am submitting this card for that challenge. They did get a bit muted in the smooshing process, so I hope they are still acceptable.
And, I hope your day is filled with Big Dreams that come true for you. Stay safe everyone. TFL

Your card is just gorgeous Debbie, and dare I say, a bit magical too. This background is stunning. I have never used microglaze before so now I need to check this out (see, you enable me too!). I love how this little cutie looks like she is walking through a field of dandelions. Fun! I love how you cut this image so you could keep the finer details of this image intact. Your sweet little granddaughter will love that you made her a very special Lily Birthday card. Hugs! ~Karen.

Ohhhh imagine how many beautiful birthday cards Lilly will receive in the years to come. This is absolutely precious Debbie. I agree with Karen, this is magical. I can't stay and chat, I've got some "A Daisy a Day" shopping to do.
