This card is for Shelly's VSN challenge and also for the mix challenge.
The watercolouring was very relaxing and easy. I simply started with pale blue and went through my blues adding water or more colour as I went. I decided to do the whole panel blue and found the watercolour paper was quite lumpy when wet. Not had that happen before. As per Shelly's instructions I let the panel dry naturally.
What next....I knew I wanted to create some sort of ocean or beach scene and opted for my coral stamp. I also wanted to try one of the double embossing techniques that Lydia had shared on the Mix challenge and the coral stamp was perfect for this as it allowed me to get all the colours at once.
On the first go it didn't emboss well...maybe the paper was still wet...not sure, and when I rubbed the panel my embossing powder came off at the bottom. I could have sworn that was heated lol. Back to my Misti and I'm stamping the coral again and embossing it for a second time, this time using the mixed embossing powder I now have in a container. I like the idea of a mixture of colours and it reminded me of sand on some of our beaches.
The sentiment is from a stamp set that also hasn't seen the light of day. I found out after stamping and heat embossing it that it had coordinating dies...mmm. I could have done that separately but I like it directly onto the blue.
Washi and bling added and done.
TFL. Happy day
