This card was inspired by two different card challenges - one was a sketch challenge that also required the use of a stamp set that was at least a year old (mine is 10 years old from a bargain bin!), and the other was a 3-2-1 recipe challenge.
Everytime I looked at the sketch, I kept seeing a Christmas tree! I knew I didn't want to do a holiday card, so turned the sketch 90 degrees to make a landscape card. Then I saw a retro card that would be perfect to use with a REALLY old stamp set that I bought in a bargain bin more than 10 years ago! It's a really nice set, but when I went to stamp the sentiment, I realized it was in the bin for a reason. Apparently there was a problem with the stamp mold, and the sentiment was smushed on the right side so the stamped image was awful! I liked the sentiment a lot, so got out my trusty computer and using Word, replicated the saying, then printed it out in as close a color as I could come to Stampin' Up! (SU) Crumb Cake color. I thought it was such a cute saying, that I HAD to use it!
The teacup was stamped using black ink, then scanned and digitally cut out on my ScanNCut. I wanted it to stand out, so cut it three more times, then glued all 4 layers together. I colored the flower using a retired SU Really Rust Stampin' Write Marker.
The triangle was created by first cutting a 3" square out of SU Cajun Craze cardstock, then cutting from the center of one side to the corners on the opposite side. The vellum mat behind it was cut using a 3.25" square.
The teabag was a stamp from the same set as the teacup, but I stamped it first using dark brown ink, then cut it and 3 copies out of SU Crumb Cake cardstock.
The sentiment is on white printer paper, and matted with dark brown cardstock. The cardbase is SU Cajun Craze, and the background is Crumb Cake.
I am rating the difficulty as a "2" out of a possible "5". Except for my bad sentiment stamp, everything was very straight forward and easy to do. Having a ScanNCut made it particularly easy to cut out. I added a 0.04" border around the teacup and tea bag before cutting them out using the "Direct Cut" method on my SnC.

Glad you guys could relate!!!! Never thought of the orange rectangle as a flag, but tea and coffee do indeed deserve to be a nation unto themselves!!! -Donna
