Case-ing myself: I made this card a while ago, & decided I needed to try to improve on it.
For today's card, I created the background by first blending some Mustard Seed DI over the 110# Cream CS. Cut some hill-shaped masks out of copy paper, & moved them around on the bottom of the CS, blending different Distress Inks as I went, to create hills & valleys. Next, blended the sky with various DI. Dripped some water on & blotted with paper towel to create some spots.
Next, stenciled the Rays onto the panel with DOX Carved Pumpkin. After that dried, stamped the cowboy & the cacti with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I used my MISTI to get a good impression! Stamped some bitty clumps of grass here & there. Colored the cacti with a green colored pencil so the sun wasn't shining thru them! Wish I had stamped & masked the cowboy before doing the stenciling; the Versafine ink didn't cover it up. Note to self... :-)
Stamped sentiment onto the vellum with Versamark & heat-embossed with Bold Black EP. Tore the edges & attached to the top of the panel with the star brads. Adhered the finished panel to the card front. Inside verse is computer-generated: "And Happy Trails to you all year long!"
TFL!

Wowsers Liz! This is so gorgeous! I really love how you did the sun days because they highlight this entire scene you have created. Your card truly glows as if The sun is shining upon it. The vellum sentiment with the gold star brads is a fantastic finishing touch. ~Karen.

This is quite eye catching with it's brilliant southwest sunrise. It really highlight those beautiful rolling hills and I REALLY like the mottled look of your silhouette images. Beautiful!
