I was reluctant at first because I didn't have any matte finish adhesive but after more reading and watching some videos I decided I'd try it out and use mod podge, it is a little shiny but it worked nonetheless.
So I thought I'd see what else I could do to liven it up, and decided on the small cups and added the washi tape and the sentiment. Perhaps the dark cardstock I used was probably too much because the inks had to be really dark to be noticeable. Two of the cups were stamped on coloured DP and left-over coloured card piece. I was pleased with the result. However, next time I'll try on a lighter colour base. Thank you for the challenge and for looking.

And thanks for playing. I think it looks great. When Sabrina tried Mod Podge, I think she said she had trouble with her paper tearing. I'm fine with the stenciled part not being perfectly white. So glad you gave it a go and I'll look forward to another attempt.

It looks as if you had the same thing with Mod Podge as I found - that it holds the colour. It does give a lovely embossed effect and afterwards I wished I hadn't pilled my card beyond recovery by trying to wipe it off to get the white look in the tutorial. I think it gives great texture and I'm sure a lovely feel to that swirly background.
