The stamp I used for the frame is a 5" x 7" stamp by the Rubber Cafe that I have owned for many years. It works great in the MISTI, I just used various coloured distress inks and water until I had the look I wanted.
While the cardstock was still a tiny bit damp, I tore 5/8" strips using a metal ruler. Once dry, I adhered several cardboard strips together, then used foam tape to attach the finished strips. I purposely glued the frame together at ever so slightly different lengths and angle, to give a rustic organic look.
I don't know if you can see it in the photo, but the coloured distress ink sky has fine brush marks under it. Long story short, I had some gesso left over the other day and decided to clean the pot and brush by using it up on cardstock.
Blending watery distress ink over gesso is like spreading melted butter and it gives a hand painted look....who knew!
Thank you for looking and I hope you are all safe and well.
EDIT: Polly's comment just reminded me...the little round door opens and I wrote "Hello Joann" inside.

What a cool looking tree house and your framing is Out of this World, Susie! Love the liquid pearls...your card really is like a secret garden, so well titled~

That is a really cool frame stamp...love it. What a magical scene...I wonder what's behind that intriguing door. I love the sky colors, especially the plumy one on top...Enjoy your time in the middle of nowhere..perhaps you'll find a wooden door with a tiny knob on it....go inside!
The first thing I thought of when I saw this was, its a hobbit door; an amazing scene. And that sky is wonderful. I love the look you achieved. It is a wonderfully framed card for Joann.

Your rustic frame is absolutely perfect to enclose this woodland scene. Love the little gnome home tucked away in the tree branches. The multitude of pearl drops give it an extra special look.
