Today's Ways to Use It challenge was to make a sympathy card. I got a new UK magazine (I'm a sucker for those freebies they include) a couple of days ago -- Simply Cards and Papercrafts issue 200, which came with a lovely Altenew "Modern Anemone" stamp and die set.
Usually when I get a new set like this, I tend to "save it for a treat" and tell myself to use some of the stuff I already have that I haven't used yet first. Well not this time -- I have never had an Altenew set and I've admired them plenty of times, and I have not had a chance to play with these multi-step stamping kits very much so I jumped on it.
The USEIT2020 part comes with the years-old pattern papers -- I actually had them in a donate box when it occurred to me that using the stamps with yellow ink would go well on yellow pattern paper and it might be a good way to use up some paper I didn't care that much for -- and that's how it worked out!
I stamped the flowers in black ink on a dotted yellow pattern paper from a baby-themed 6x6 pad, then added the solid yellow layer and the brown center and used the matching die to cut out the three flowers. I layered another piece of plaid paper from the same pad on a white card, then attached a white circle with the sentiment stamped in black. Finally I attached the flowers around the edge of the circle. Once I figured out the multi-step stamping bit, the card came together quickly.
TFL!

Great Altenew stamp set. I only have 2 of their sets and I love them. It has been a while since I used one, might need to use them again. I love that you found a use for the DP in your donation box. It is great when we can use something that we are not sure about. This makes a wonderful sympathy card. Thank you so much for playing along.
