I wanted something large and floral that would look good colored with Copic markers, so dug into my stash of stamps and found this Rubber Stampede stamp of an amaryllis from 2002 (at 18 years, that makes it DEFINITELY older than a year!!!). I inked it up with Versamark and stamped on Stampin' Up! (SU) Whisper White cardstock. I then hand colored it using six different Copic marker colors (listed below). I then die cut it out using dies. I cut a mat for it using the next size up die, then using the matching paper piercing template, poked holes all around the perimeter of the mat piece.
I wanted the white die-cut to stand up a bit higher than the card surface, so used the same die to cut a piece of white craft foam to glue behind it.
The background pattern paper is a beautiful three-color three-color mosaic from the SU "Mosaic Mood" Speciality Designer Series Paper (DSP).
The sketch required some corner elements, which I die cut with SU "Stitched Shapes" framelits squares from SU Pear Pizzazz cardstock. The little pointy element in the left bottom corner was cut using the smaller stitched square from the same die set, then moving the die down to one corner and cutting again.
I'm rating the difficulty of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5". The hardest part was coloring the amaryllis. I think this card will make a great birthday, get well, or thinking of you card.
