Pat is our hostess for the A Little Bird Told Me Teapot Tuesday challenge.
Well, one of my few stamp categories that isn't Christmas or a brand is "birds and music", so the difficulty was where to start. I thought about the Stamping Bella Iron Chef chicks for some light humour and fun, but in the end went with these avocets. I see, when I look them up, that the North American ones have some lovely fawn colouring, but the UK and European ones (we don't have them here) are just black and white. And so elegant - we have seen them in the south of France.
Image stamped on Bristol paper and coloured simply with pencils. Matted onto a plain and then a scalloped circle. The net was left from another project, it's a blue with some sort of iridescent gold in it. The shell was on my desk - the die cuts this and a large scallop which is on the inside along with a stamp from Art Neko which says "To find a seashell is to discover a world of imagination".
I used two different colourways of the same shell design paper, cut in half diagonally so that it picks up both some of the colour in the shell and the grey matting layers.

These lovely birds remind me of sandpipers which we see running near the water on our beaches here in Florida. Lovely card! I like the seashell background.

I love the cut in 2 diagonals background, and these birds are very pretty I've seen several here in France near Bordeaux / Arcachon (l'ile aux oiseaux)

I wondered what bird stamp you would use, you always showcase them so beautifully. Everything about this has a calm and restful feeling to it. Kris is sure to love this Sabrina. We have Red-necked avocets here - they have a complete red head and neck.

Wonderful card Sabrina! I have never heard of an avocet before so it was fun for me to read about them. I love the 2 coordinating dp's you used and how the split design draws the eye right to the image panel. I struggle to use small images like this (even though I love them) because I do not think to add the other wonderful elements like the netting and the shell. What a delight it is to see this card in the gallery and I know Kristine will treasure this too. ~Karen.
