This birthday card was made as a Design Team card for Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch Challenge #442. I turned the sketch 90-degrees to accommodate the stemmed flower bunch.
The challenge also had an option to use pastel colors. I started by cutting a 2-3/4"x 5" panel of Stampin' Up! (SU) Grapefruit Grove cardstock, and a 1"x 5" piece of So Saffron. I taped them together on the back, and then ran the piece through my Big Shot embossing machine inside an SU "Mosaic 3D" embossing folder. I glued this to the SU Pear Pizzazz card base with Tombow glue.
I then die cut the green stems from SU Pear Pizzazz cardstock using the die from SU "Bouquet Bunch" dies. Using a scissors I trimmed the top off of most the stems so they wouldn't show through the flowers. The flowers were created by using the largest flower punch in the same die set with all four of the orangish shades of cardstock (see list of colors). I glued these on creating "sprigs" of the same color so that each sprig contrasted with the card panel below it.
The final element was the birthday sentiment. It was from the matching SU stamp set called "Beautiful Bouquet". I stamped it on the same yellow as the panel using SU Pear Pizzazz ink. It was die cut using the Spellbinders label die, and matted with an SU "Labels Collection" die that after cutting it out, I cut in half horizontally so equal sized matting would stick out both on the top and bottom of the yellow piece.
Getting the blossom stems to look right and contrast with their background was a bit tricky, so for that reason I am rating the difficulty level as a "3" out of a possible "5".
