I still had my paste paper strips out from Monday's die-cut strip challenge and had every intention to make a Valentine out of this, but it veered it's way into my third another Chinese New Year card. After laying the strips onto the sticky label, I added these real copper strip tapes, recycled and given to me by a friend. I die cut it down and added texture with a Cuttlebug EF. Next, I used the Chinese Lantern Cuttlebug folder on vellum and fussy cut those out. I FINALLY used one of a gazillion pieces of the copper wire bullion I have had for years, lightly stretching it and adhering with mini glue dots. Heat embossed the sentiment on more vellum. I will be giving this card to the gentleman who gave me the copper strips. I will see him on Jan 25th...the Chinese New Year!

The vellum is brilliant for the lanterns, and oh, I am very taken with that copper bullion. I've seen something with a similar texture on old embroideries. How apposite that you will be giving this to the recipient on the exact date!

The fans go wild! Awesome card for the Chinese New Year...I recognize that ef with the lanterns...love them on the vellum and cut as individuals. Of course adore the vibrant reds, oranges, and pinks....holy moly...need to get together. Next week...for sure.

Very nice!
FYI: my friend has a Vietnamese daughter in law and she says the Lunar new year is celebrated by most or all Asians, not just the Chinese. Year of the rat....
