I was born in the Year of the Rat but can't say I ever had an affinity for that animal. . .
I decided to use the rat's lucky colors so started with a Cerulean blue bg, stamped the spring blossoms with versamark then embossed with clear powder for a silk brocade look ( a kimono I'd surely wear). printed my rat clipart, colored with prismacolor pencils and fussy cut. I embossed the 3 good wishes in cerulean blue and adhered with mounting foam over the green & gold glitter bars.
The lucky elements I used were Rats 3 lucky colors - and luck numbers 2 & 3 (2 colors glitter strips; 3 good wishes) and of course in all his ?glory? RAT!!

Great way to get in both challenges. Your embossing looks pretty and that rat.....well, just don't let him come to my house. Ha

Great combining of the challenges, Linda! The blue embossing is really beautiful, and even though you are not a rodent fan, the addition of that guy is wonderful. This is your year!

Fab brocade look indeed, Linda! I must remember that. And the kanji set is perfect. Not fond of rats in real life, but I don't mind them in cartoons (Ratatouille, Charlotte's Web etc). And I like them on cards. Actually, your one reminds me of one of my dad's pet mice, Juliet.
