I layered several napkins then die cut my birch trees - I actually left these attached to the scraps while I watercolored in hopes of MAYBE not getting as much separation of layers. Watercolored my birch trees with a mix of dark brown & straw then covered the entire piece with Twinkling H2O's in Heavenly white. While this was drying, I brayered the Royal Satin rainbow ink over glossy white paper for a spooky night sky and one that would highlight the white birches. My trees are a single die which always makes them awkward to attach to the base so this time I cut them apart in individual trees which made gluing them on MUCH easier. I made the hand lettered sign (it helps anchor some of the trees), cut the edges with a wonky scissors then sponged on frayed burlap to tone down the yellow a bit. Finished with some die cut bats taking flight from my spooky forest.

Those trees look great, very like the birch branch which was our Christmas tree a couple of years ago, and which I still have assorted seasonal decorations hanging from. Great colour choices and I bet the white Twinkling H2Os to finish it look fab. The sense of depth with the big bat in the foreground and the smaller ones is really effective too.

Wow, I would marry those colors if I wasn't already married. Love the vibrancy and texture - and the yellow "beware." And the trees are die cut from napkins?!? Wow.
