This is the inside of a card that I created for my mom's birthday. (You can see the front of the card at this post.) Jennifer McGuire's Inside Tunnel Card tutorial inspired the design.
I stamped, colored, & die cut the birds, branches, & birdhouse. Since this is a birthday card, I used bright, happy colors, especially for the birds.
I die cut the panels following the measurements & directions in Jennifer's tutorial. I wanted to step it up and do 2 layers between the front & back. She had shown a card like that, but didn't give how-to details on doing that in her video. I cut the panels to the size she said to, but ended up having to trim the flaps on either side to 1/8" wide, rather than 1/4". Thankfully, I had double-sided tape narrow enough to work with that!
I die cut the centers out of each piece with "Stitched Rectangles" dies. I stenciled on the back of the insert panel with Tumbled Glass & the "Mini Cloud Edges" stencil. It actually wasn't until I assembled my card that I discovered I had stenciled upside-down! But I wasn't about to start over at that point, so I cut another panel of Marshmallow cardstock, stenciled it, and adhered it to the back inside panel of my card. Problem solved!
I adhered my birds, branches, & birdhouse with glue dots. I did add liquid glue to adhere few bits to the frames, like the top of the parrot's head, to provide added stability. (Those parts were just too small for glue dots.) And that finished this card. I'm sure my mom will get a kick out of it!
