Snietje is hosting a very special teaparty this week for "Cards for Hospitalised Kids" in Chicago.
I am having trouble uploading, thankfully this little chap was happy to show his face. The other cards are very similar, just different colours. The girly versions say "Stay Strong Princess".
The image is coloured with Prismacolour pencils, Zest it pencil blend and highlighted with a Copic.
The background is another one using last weeks Mixed Media technique - faux reductive painting. I had a super ugly A4 sheet covered in ink spray and blobs of alcohol ink. I placed an A4 sized stencil/mask (depends how you look at it) over the top of said ugly sheet, applied black acrylic paint, being careful to paint in one direction and like magic a fun background evolves.
This is yet another example that mixed media is pot luck and only a breath away from being usable.
Even though this card is very flat, it is quite tactile. The liquid pearls are bumpy, the gold Stickles are scratchy and the black paint has very fine ridges in it.
I hope the little tackers in hospital enjoy some TEApotter hugs. I hope you get a chance to join in.
Paper: Images on copy paper, background is smooth white cardstock
Paper Size: 5"x 7"
Accessories: Whichcraftdoyoudo.com tree stencil/mask, black acrylic paint, foam painbrush, Prismacolour pencils, colourless pencil blender, Zest in pencil blend, liquid pearls, gold Stickles, white gelly roll pen and the dodgiest A4 sheet of ink smooshing ever!

Oh wow, Susie. Fantastic. Your little giraffe is the cutest. Your background and the way the tractor is part of it are amazing (but where is hus safety roll-cage!!?). What a super way to use your big tree. I hope we get to see the princesses at some stage too.

This is the cutest card! What a wonderful way you used your "ugly" background. This turned out fabulously. A child will just love this as well as the bright colors.
