Our teaparty this week is for a very special Splitcoastie, Julie Gearinger and her hubby Dave. I hope you can join in and send some paper hugs and good wishes to Julie and Dave. To learn more about this weeks special Teapot Tuesday teaparty, the details can be found here.
After fussy cutting the mice and wielding a scalpel for the fiddly bits (with minimal blood loss) I tried to come up with a suitable background. Nothing seemed to work until I found an offcut in my scrap box, then I had a light bulb moment and went in search of the card it came from.
I uploaded this card back in 2017. There is a link to Sabrina's fun challenge and from there you will find a link to Loll Thompson's metallic tissue paper technique.
Even though I loved the original card it always seemed to be lack something....I should have known two well dressed mice on a bike carrying a brolly would do the trick!
To blend the image with the background, I added some gold to the bike and brolly using Gansai Tambi water-based pigment stuff (it's like Twinkling H2O's, but more intense and easy to use with a wet paint brush or aqua pen).
The Mo Manning digi mice are printed on copy paper, coloured with Prismacolour pencils and Zest it pencil blend and highlighted with Copics. Lots of liquid pearls were added before fussy cutting and adhering to the background using a glue stick.
Thanks so much for looking and I hope you get a chance to play along.

Susie, those adorable mice on the bicycle are the perfect add on to that marvelous bg and gate. Love, love, love the umbrella! Great coloring and fancy pearl embellishments. The original was elegant, you stepped it up to fabulous with your mice. Sure hope they get your internet upgraded soon!!!!

This is beyond fabulous, Susie! Your green metallic bg looks amazing and I just love the gold gates and bike. Your liquid pearls add so much to this card. Looks like they are off on an adventure. How GOOD was the cricket, I stayed to the end last night~

That's a gorgeous background Susie and the mice are adorable (which is saying something coming from somebody with something of a mouse phobia!). Did they just scrump that strawberry from the grounds of the stately home beyond those gates, I wonder?

Susie, this scene is exquisite!! All of the details are so wonderful I have to keep going back to look some more. We get a lot of rain here in the Pacific Northwest so I have a pretty large collection of umbrellas
