Today Chris has challenged us to use something French on our CAS cards. Although most of my ancestors were French, I don't have really have any French stamps. But I do have this clipart that had been a weekly freebie at The Hungry JPEG. I chose to put this sweet painter in front of the Eiffel Tower. But first I had to take a trip over the our friend Snietje's gallery to make sure that I had the correct spelling of "Happy Birthday". And I combined also with Lyn's TLC challenge which was to play with paper towels. I enjoyed the video and I chose to stencil a sunburst behind the Eiffel Tower and used the torn paper towel to make some layers of clouds in the sky. I also dipped the torn paper towel in some wet ink and added some flecks of Spiced Marmalade in the sky. I cut the artist and tree with my ScanNCut and popped them up in the foreground.
Accessories: Spellbinders Card Creator B die, Brother ScanNCut, CDD stencil, foam squares, computer generated sentiment using "Yellow Butterflies" font from The Hungry JPEG
Techniques: Stenciling and masking with paper towel

I love your French scene Jen, painting in front of the Eiffel Tower may not be allowed but I love how you've included this little painter, and the birthday sentiment is perfect!! the background is terrific with the paper towel technique

Oh, she's a sweetie. The colours remind me of last year when we were in Paris in the heatwave in April - because it was still early in the year, the sun set early and we got to see some amazing sunsets. There was one evening when the front of Notre Dame looked a totally different pinky/yellow colour to how I'd ever seen it before. She looks very chic with her beret and little neck scarf.

Beautiful sky colours - can’t make up my mind whether its early morning or evening - either will do - and looks like a lovely day to spend painting as well.
