Happy Summer all. I hope you are enjoying a leisurely slow roll. Carla, you have brought us a super challenge in the Ways to this week. Nature prints. I pruned one of my Japanese Maples to make leaf prints. Not only do I collect art supplies, but I collect plants. All in all, I made about a dozen random prints using the DO's in Pickled Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, and Walnut Stain. This print is my very favorite and I doubt I could duplicate it. I sprayed the DO's to the underside of the leaves and then pressed them into my Arches Cold Press paper. When it was a bit dry, I over sprayed with the leaves in place more of the DO's. Blotted up the color and spray with water.
Dried the panel and then stamped the Shakespeare quote with the 'Crimson Red' VersaFine and embossed with 'detail' EP. Added a tiny Sizzix TH maple leaf that had be dipped and drug through the remaining spray puddles. Stapled the leaf under the quote. Cut two diamonds in pink and orange as mats. Stapled the main panel in random fashion with fuchsia staples.
My 'real' maple is a splotched, multi hued beauty. I am happy with this artful intrep. And I'm with Willie here...Summers' lease is definitely too short a date.
May yours seem endless...
Thanks for stopping by.
