There isn't anything on this card that screams 'patriotic', except for the red, white and blue. But to explain my title, I think if you are patriotic, you care about people, especially the littles ones who have no voice. I'm thinking of the children of Milwaukee, who are born into poverty and have no stability in their lives, the children who are in foster care and just want someone to love them and the children on the border who, through no fault of their own, have been abandoned. I don't care what color your politics are, I just care about the children.
This is based on a Zindorf tutorial from a while ago. I used a few neutrals on top of the red, white and blue, which were applied direct to paper. I also swiped on the gray, going up and down and then sponged a little baked brown sugar and pigment white, very lightly, just to add some warmth.
The doggie, named Barney, is very interested in the squirrel in the tree. The little boy, named Joey, loves to spend the whole summer on his bike. Aren't our children lucky they can have a bike and such carefree moments?

This is wonderful. I pinned it. I love that it not subtle but it is at the same time. I dont need a specific flag image to think patriotic when I see those colors.
It is a very nostalgic image. Oh for the days when we were so carefree even if we had hardships. Children manage to find moments of joy.

OH I love this and I too care about all the children and what they may be up against in their future. So I see a very patriotic card. Your BG is wonderful and I love your image. Great card.

Love you antiqued red, white and blue background and the great scene you’ve created. Your commentary touched me. It reminds me of the song lyrics, “Bless the beasts and the children, for in this world they have no say, they have no way.”
