The Ways to Use It Challenge, WT745 - Memories - (6/20/19), was an unusual challenge. We were instructed to revisit our gallery on SCS and choose one of our first cards uploaded to serve as an inspiration for a new card. It was suggested by the hostess that we could copy the layout, use same colors or same technique.
I looked back to the first page of cards in my gallery and decided that the 2nd card I uploaded would be my inspiration piece. Here it is: Loads of Love - Snoopy delivers birthday cake by Boss at Splitcoaststampers
I made the original card back in 2005 for my Dadâs birthday. Since we just celebrated his 90th birthday last month, I decided to make this new card as a tribute to him.
My approach to this memories challenge was pretty much old-school...I stuck with the same stamps, same theme and just kicked it up a bit with details like popped up balloons and lots of strings. The trickiest part of this card is masking the Snoopy image in the tiny window of the pickup truck. I included the actual stamp in the photo. As you can see itâs an old-style foam stamp, and if you look closely you will notice that Snoopy is on roller-blades. Stinkinâcute, isnât it?!
I remember how delighted I was, back in 2005, to discover that Snoopy fit perfectly inside the truck window. I learned to use a stamp positioning tool (new tool back in those days!) and taught myself how to mask - needed to do this to get Snoopy in the drivers seat. It made me smile to pull out the same old purple tool to stamp Snoopy for this card. Thats really old-school! Ha...I think SU just recently retired this old stamp positioning tool - it is one I will not discard because it is super handy for positioning wood or thick foam mounted stamps.
Thanks for swinging by and taking a look at my 2019 re-do of my 2005 edition Snoopy card. Happy travels to you, as you go down memory lane in your own gallery. Canât wait to see what you come up with as a tribute to your first upload here at SCS. Please play along with us, this challenge is SO fun!

hay, neighbor...smile! So so clever how you used Snoopy. I love your fresh take on your original. Perfectly hip. And congratulations to your DAD. It's the dry side...so good for health!

Snoopy! Get your eyes on the road and slow down! You're going to lose the cake! LOL! This is SO much fun! I love your old card and your super fun update. The balloons and tag flying behind the truck are awesome! There is so much movement in this!

Super snoopy image in both cards. It is always fun to go back through our old cards and remake some especially with our new skills that we learn over the years of trying new techniques and new tools.

Adorable card, Susy! Love Snoopy driving the truck, your coloring captures the cartoon feel beautifully and I love the trailing balloons and sign. Fun remake of your original.
