Fussy cut the cardinals after coloring them. My very favorite animals beside dogs and cats are bird cardinals! We have a ton of them around here hiding in the holly bushes or at their feeder. When I had my St. Pattyâs party this year, my son brought me a cardinal painting that a friend made that I love. I took ornithology in college but would love to take it again now that I know most of the birds in the south. (My degree is from Indiana University.) I am very glad that Abby ignores the birds. Thanks for a fun challenge.

I would definitely love to see one these brightly coloured birds in the garden. Alas I will have to make do with the gaudy parrots we have here instead.

Don't they have cardinals in Indiana? I was at a business event in Missouri with people from all over the country, and a woman from California was so excited to see cardinals because they don't have them out west....

Now that I'm on a PC I'm getting to comment on this one too. Taking a course in ornithology sounds like a great idea - you should go for it. I love watching the birds in the garden here. Some of yours have the same name but are totally different, like the goldfinch and the robin, I ended up having to buy a book of North American birds to know how to colour some of my stamps.
