I can't seem to make a card without a glitter pen so that's why I used that title...otherwise, nothing else has to do with glitter pen! You can hardly see it but it's on both images. I thought about making that little heart on the bird house red but changed my mind. I wanted more monochromatic.
What a lovely and neat (as Jennifrann says) gallery Pat has. She does SU very proud indeed. I think she uses their dp beautifully. As some favorite stampers say here, I tend to throw things at cards and see what sticks. Makes me laugh every time I think that. Here is the card I CASED: Just in CASE by patstamps2001 at Splitcoaststampers
I loved everything about this card! I remembered that I had a background similar to her dp. It was a mixed media background for a previous MIX challenge but didn't get used. Blue/gray and white acrylic paint, maybe some crackle medium...I dry embossed it for more texture and then sponged on some of the watering can ink. I used my new twig dies, again making use of another background for that same MIX, using metallic acrylics, washi and dictionary page. I haven't used either of these images in the frames in a long time. I sponged a bit of both inks around the image for a bit more interest.
So I used a similar background and a bird theme but changed everything else. This was fun. I wanted a serene card like hers and I think I achieved that. PS Forgot to mention that her card is a CASE of an SU catalog card, so I CASED a CASE.

That's why we're friends. We're carefree artists :0)
Isn't it funny how we get hooked on one craft supply for a little while and can't seem to live without it. I can't figure out how I lived without an embossing marker for so long. I LOVE that thing! Anyway, this is so artsy and fun. I love the frames and the gorgeous background. You've definitely achieved the serene feeling you were looking for!

You made me smile about the saying! Your background is beautiful! I love the little bird/birdhouse images. I love pops of red on cards but I think you did the right thing leaving it off on this card! So beautiful!
