I made this as a graduation present for a lady I have been mentoring who is finishing a 9 month recovery program. She has really formed a deeper faith this time around in rehab and when I asked her what verse was special to her she chose this. I started by purchasing a wood frame and anchor. The frame has a light coat of chalk paint antiqued with wax and also has some NQNavy and Mossy Meadow sponged on. I spray painted the anchor silver first, but it was quite flat and glossy. I then smooshed my Versamark ink pad directly onto the anchor and then used a blend of ep that I use for an older metal look. I did two applications of this. I took some twine and braided the rope. For my bg piece I started with dp. I gave this a really good crumple and unfolded that and sponged Grey onto the creases and in the corners. I also sponged some Not Quite Navy through a mesh bag. I inked my letter stamps with a NQN marker then Memento Black. I used the marker over some lettering that didn't stamp evenly and also for the Scripture reference.
